The Preseason was a content update prior to Season 1, that released for XDefiant. The Preseason was active from the official launch of the game from May 21, 2024 to July 2, 2024.

Overview

The Preseason was launched with the release of XDefiant, complete with most of the weapons, maps, modes and gadgets of the prerelease updates. One new weapon, being the MDR, was released, along with the Welcome Playlist, a playlist for new players up until level 25, and Team Death Match. The Store was added along with XCoins, and the official release of the Battle Pass track, the return of skins for weapons and characters, the addition of challenges in-game and on Ubisoft Connect, and an early trial of Ranked and Career Stats. Over the course of the Preseason, the limited time Founder's Pack was also active for purchase. A set of Twitch Drops were also released over the course of the season for a total of 12 skins and 6 Weapon XP Boosters.

Over the course of the update, many systems were reworked including improvements to the netcode, the addition of flinch for sniper rifles, the addition of aim sway penalties for repetitive use of crouching and jumping, and several changes to Weapon Experience, increasing the maximum weapon level from 100 to 200, and reducing XP per level from 3,500 to 1,500 and 1,500 to 500 for primary and secondary weapons respectively.

Battle Pass

The Battle Pass featured 50 levels with 53 rewards and costed 1,000. Three rewards were awarded immediately once the pass was purchased. Free rewards are marked in red.
