The EMP Grenade is a device available in XDefiant.

Overview

Once thrown, The EMP Grenade will destroy or temporarily disable the use of enemy devices and abilities. The only ultra the EMP Grenade can affect is the AEGIS, which can be destroyed with six EMP Grenades. The EMP Grenade is unlocked after dealing 400 damage to enemy equipment with devices.

Patch Notes

September 25th, 2024 Patch

• Fixed a glitch causing EMP grenades to disable conventional grenades (such as Frag and Sticky) if those grenades were deployed just as the EMP was about to activate.
• (Undocumented) - Changed the EMP Grenade icon.

August 14th, 2024 Patch

• If you couldn't complete the EMP grenade Base Challenge because it wasn't tracking your progress, try it now. You should be good.

July 2nd, 2024 Patch

• The Phantoms' AEGIS now takes damage from EMP grenades (lob six to put it out of commission).

• EMP does not cancel the Blitz Shield.

• The model used for the device is the same as the EMP Grenade in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
