The AEGIS is an Ultra for the Phantoms available in XDefiant.
Overview[]
The AEGIS is a plasma shield used by the Phantoms to deflect incoming enemy projectiles, including the use of an electronic scattergun. When the AEGIS is active, all enemy bullets and projectiles outside of the shield will be deflected, but all projectiles and bullets inside the shield are unaffected. Teammates are able to use the shield as protection similar to the Mag Barrier, where all allied bullets and projectiles are unaffected by the shield. Using the AEGIS will slow the user to walking speed. The AEGIS' shotgun will instantly kill anyone within the range of the barrier. The AEGIS can be destroyed early by depleting its shields with gunfire, or six EMP Grenades. Firing the scattergun will not deplete the AEGIS faster.
Patch Notes[]
- GS-Kommando's Flash Shield now flash-blinds enemies hunkered behind the Mag Barrier or AEGIS shield. As well it should; those things provide damage protection, not eye protection.
- Removed an exploit allowing some Phantom players to respawn with invincibility if they managed to trigger the AEGIS ultra moments before death.
- Fixed the Phantoms' Mag Barrier so it's no longer impervious to the AEGIS's electro-scattergun if hit anywhere except dead center.
- The Phantoms' AEGIS now takes damage from EMP grenades (lob six to put it out of commission).
